Google is a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc, which own many products/services such as:
YouTube
Nest (wifi)
Home (assistant)
Pixel (phones)
and much, much more.
In summary: THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. (because people allow them to be.) One user affects everyone.

Of course google wants to track your habits online so they can sell that data to buyers and share it with “third-parties” (which could mean anyone; yes, even governments) and make a quick buck off of your seemingly harmless fun time browsing. and of course they want to convince you to do so and not block their sites. the world is not all business; and the internet shouldn’t be. Targeting you (and your devices) with:
- ad trackers
- Referrer and other etags
- browser fingerprinting
Google owns most ads online (because most people use google to run them)
listening to you through mics to serve “relevant” ads
Maps tracking your location, ALWAYS
Retaining every “OK Google” search for “developmental purposes”

or harmful effects of this is being always watched and the gov meddling with your life. this adds up to be a dystopian nitghtmare. nobody should be constantly watched. especially when there is no reason to do so. and even when there is.

The Internet Association (IA) is an American lobbying group based in Washington, D.C., which represents internet companies.[1] It was founded in 2012 by several companies, including Google, Amazon, eBay, and Facebook, and is headed by the president and CEO Michael Beckerman.[2]
IA lobbies Congress, the courts, foreign governments, federal and state agencies, and state and local governments on a range of regulatory issues.[3] The group also publishes economic research on the internet economy.
